Acceptable Use Policy
Effective Date: July 25, 2026
Last Updated: July 25, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using the ClaimLex platform, operated by ClaimLex Technologies. It supplements and is incorporated into the Terms of Service. Violation of this AUP is a material breach and may result in suspension or termination of your account without refund, and in reporting to authorities where required.
1. Purpose
ClaimLex provides a licensed legal-research service. Access is granted for legitimate legal research, professional practice, academic and personal reference. This AUP protects the integrity of the Platform, the rights of ClaimLex, and the experience of all users.
2. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
Access & scraping
- Scrape, crawl, spider, harvest, index, mirror, or systematically download Content by any automated or manual means;
- Use bots, scripts, headless browsers, or any automated tool to access the Platform, except through an API expressly licensed to you and within its limits;
- Circumvent, disable or interfere with rate limits, the device limit, paywalls, captchas, or any security or access-control measure.
Redistribution & competition
- Copy, republish, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, distribute, or otherwise make Content available to any third party;
- Use the Content to build, train, populate, or improve any competing database, product, dataset, or service;
- Use the Content or Platform to train, fine-tune, ground, or evaluate any machine-learning or generative-AI model.
Account integrity
- Share, sell or transfer your credentials; permit access by non-subscribers; or operate a single account for multiple persons or an organisation beyond its licensed seats/devices;
- Create accounts by automated means or provide false registration information.
Security & interference
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform, other accounts, or connected systems;
- Introduce malware, conduct denial-of-service attacks, probe or scan for vulnerabilities without authorisation, or otherwise interfere with the Platform's operation;
- Remove, alter, or obscure any citation stamp, licence stamp, watermark, or proprietary notice.
Unlawful & harmful use
- Use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, or infringing purpose;
- Misrepresent Editorial Content as the authoritative order of any court or tribunal;
- Upload or transmit content you do not have the right to share, or that is confidential to a third party.
3. Fair use & rate limits
Even where permitted, usage must be reasonable and consistent with a single professional user's research needs. We may apply rate limits, fair-use throttles, and per-plan quotas (including on AI features and downloads). Automated or excessive activity that degrades the Platform for others may be limited or blocked.
4. Monitoring & enforcement
We may monitor usage to detect abuse, protect the Platform, and enforce this AUP and the Terms. We may, at our discretion and without prior notice, throttle, suspend, or terminate access, and preserve or disclose information as required by law. We reserve all legal remedies for breach, including injunctive relief and damages.
5. Reporting abuse
To report suspected abuse, security issues, or content concerns, email abuse@claimlex.in or security@claimlex.in.
